Our Story
Rooted deeper than the 150 year old Oak trees that shade parts of our farm, our story started many many years before us. It is because of the sacrifice's made by our ancestors that we are allowed to do what we do and the bloodline that flows through our veins that pushes us to do our very best!
Our Story.....
Rebecca's Roots
Rebecca was raised next to the same property we farm today on Thompson & Franks Peach Farm in Calhoun Louisiana. Owned and operated by her father Edward Lee Franks and Grandfather Louie Elvitt Thompson Sr. She grew up helping in all aspects of their farm from planting, caring for, harvesting and selling the produce raised on this amazing farm and learning the values of what traditional farming was all about. Rebecca would eventually take on other jobs outside the farm such as convenience stores, department stores, deer processing and what ever else it took to help make ends meet then in 2006 working her way through college getting a degree in nursing and pursuing a career in that field after graduating in 2006 all while still helping as much as she could on her families farm.
William's Journey
William was raised just down the road in West Monroe Louisiana in the Kiroli Woods area. The son of a truck driver and factory worker, his parents always taught him good values and to never act above anyone else. He grew up with his 2 brothers pushing a lawn mower or carrying a rake around the neighborhood caring for peoples yards to earn money along with helping his father work on different projects and learning how to work hard and be humble. Around 1990 he took a job in the tree cutting industry and would excel in that for several years to come, eventually becoming a climber. When work was slow, he would help local construction companies pour and finish concrete which he found out he loved and was very good at despite how hard of work it was.
Paths Crossing
Eventually, in the mid 90's Rebecca and William would meet by chance (or fate), marry, have 3 children and start a path to the future. On the weekends William would come out and help Rebecca's father on the farm, not knowing anything about farming other than the huge gardens he worked every summer with his parents and grandparents every year but he was very eager to learn, not knowing that this would set the stage to the future. In the winter of 97' Rebecca's father suddenly and sadly passed away. with no one to do the work, William quit his job and teamed up with Rebecca, her mother and her grandfather and kept the farm going. That next season was the most successful season Thompson & Franks Peach Farm had seen in over 20 years, truly someone was watching over them! William worked side by side daily for almost 2 years with Rebecca's grandfather learning all he could about farming but that farm was eventually taken over by another family member and is still successfully in operation today.
William and Rebecca, while working various places in their career paths also decided to open a few “Mobile Produce Stands” mostly in South Louisiana, calling it “Cooks Produce of Louisiana”, hauling Peaches from Thompsons and other local Peach Farms to these roadside locations and selling them during the summer. Rebecca said “The kids were still very small, still in car seats and right there with us, I really don't know how we done it”. This proved to be very successful and most of these locations are still in operation today.
A Dream Takes Root
Sometime around 2010 they both started having the idea of building a small farm stand in Calhoun where they could grow and facilitate produce of their own and maybe have a swing set and slide for the children to play on while their parents bought produce. It was just an idea, a dream they didn't think would ever see the light of day. In the summer of 2014 a plan was put in to place, William said to Rebecca “What are we going to call it?” she replied “Indian Village Harvest Farm” a fitting name that carries Community, Trust and Heritage with it. Nothing happen over night, they worked and saved for several more years knowing this was a big risk and they didn't want to borrow the money from a bank and not be able to pay it back if their crops failed. In the Winter of 2018 construction began. It would take so much more than they figured, not just monetary but the help of an army of family & friends, robbing Peter to pay Paul and tons of sacrifices to get it up and going.
Over the years, I.V.H.FARM has become much more than a little Peach Farm with humble beginnings. Its a place for the community to come feel safe while their children play, to trust the foods available are the freshest and best tasting, a place for everyone to learn about Farming, picking your own produce, creating life long memories and so much more.
I.V.H.FARM currently grows an array of produce including Peaches, Plums, Strawberries, Tomatoes, Watermelons, Potatoes, Sweet Potatoes, Squash, Peppers, Pumpkins, Onions, and more. They are constantly experimenting with new crops and new ideas to make this 27 acre agritourism farm a 1 stop shop for all things fun and farming.
Rebecca and William have seen their fair share of tragedy and hard times and use those lessons as a springboard to make sure everyone they cross paths with leaves with a smiling face, a warm heart and of course a full stomach just like their families and friends have taught them.
Rebecca and William Cook have 3 children, Chelsea Martha, Brianna Rebecca and William Eugene II and to date 9 grandchildren, all of which have put their fair share of work in to this whole operation.
It is our mission to serve God, to always be grateful & humble, to thank our Lord and Savior for the path we are on and to leave this world knowing we done our best to make it a better place!

Fresh greens, strawberries, and early vegetables mark the beginning of our growing season.

Peaches, watermelons, tomatoes, and corn are at their peak during the warm summer months.

Pumpkins, squash, and autumn favorites create a colorful harvest season.

Birthday Parties
A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to hold your date & time. In the case of bad weather, we'll book a new date or apply the deposit toward a farm stand purchase.
What's Included

- 🎠 Educational Hayride tickets available to purchase if running that day ($3 each)
- 🧹 We clean up when it's over
If you'd like to book on a date we're closed (between seasons), you can still host a self-service party for $75 (plus the $50 deposit, applied to total). You get the Pavilion and Playground for 2 hours and 15 bags of Petting Zoo feed left out for you. You can purchase available items at the farm stand on the honor system. You clean up afterwards.
We cannot hold a date and time slot until the deposit is paid in full. Accepted: Cash · Check · Credit/Debit · Venmo · Cash App.
Book a Birthday PartyField Trips
No deposit required — but once you agree to the terms, you are under contract and responsible for at least the minimum amount unless cancelled due to weather. Parents attend free, pay as they go.
